I read about Easy Jose in an article in The Guardian. In it they were explaining how Peruvian coffee farmers have worked out that they can grow shade adapted coffee plants under the forest canopy and therefore not have to clear many of the trees and plants in doing so. Their yield is lower, but the jungle stays largely intact, which is so important and essential if we're going to get out of the mess we're in. I immediately ordered a few bags from Easy Jose to try and support these amazing farmers. The beans arrived promptly and I am currently enjoying a cup or two every day. The coffee quality and taste is right up there with the best I've had and I feel good drinking each cup, in the knowledge that I'm giving the natural world a value, which is sorely underestimated. Great work guys!

I discovered Easy Jose Coffee Roasters a few years ago. Having lunch with friends I tasted their coffee for the first time. The restaurant manager was only too pleased to give me details of the supplier, and I have bought no other coffee since. The Company are a joy to deal with and although my orders are for home use, not retail, so are not large quantities, I order regularly. I approve hugely of the Company’s ethical approach, which ticks all the right boxes. They deserve all the success and awards that have been given to them.

The concept of a more environmentally friendly coffee from plantations within the rainforest is very appealing. I’ve tried two of the offers and flavour is good, nice coffees. The appeal has been met with a flavourful coffee. I’d like to buy a subscription but it is more coffee than I’d drink per month as I drink other coffee as well. How about a subscription for every second month with a higher price point, then it’s 5 stars.

The shade grown Mayni coffee has great environmental credentials . At £36.00 a kilo you are also paying a massive premium over supermarket Fairtrade. I have to admit the coffee was not totally to my taste, but that's a personal thing. I am reassured that a significant part of the premium you pay goes to the farmer, and from the company's response to my questions, their commitment to providing quality coffee, and to giving a fair deal to their suppliers shines through. I will keep buying from them, and I'm sure I'll find something to suit my (possibly peculiar) taste, that scores highly for sustainability and a fair deal for growers.

I own a cafe where we sell Mayni coffee. It has been a great success with our customers. We have very good feedback on the taste of the coffee and people really buy into the story and ethics of this company. Highly recommend.

Easy Jose is better than it's reputation and ads! Absolutely delicious, I'm drinking it now and every morning while I can afford to have beans shipped from the U.K. to the U.S. And there's my problem--it cost$ more to ship than the coffee itself; so, won't be able to afford it anymore. Please, please EJ-get a partner in the U.S. so I can drink it forever. Hate to mention this, but a bag was totally ripped in transport, so again shipping is doubtful costly option.

What attracted me to this coffee was the mission behind what they are trying to do, in terms of their ethical/sustainable sourcing model and the long-term working partnership with the communities that produce the coffee. It is of course a welcome bonus that the coffee tastes (and smells) amazing too, and several people thus far have commented on how great it is!

Excellent coffee - ethically it is hard to beat, and I was very pleased to discover it tastes great too. I like the fact that you can specify the grind size when ordering, so that it's just right for whatever coffee-making equipment you're using.

Outstanding ethical practice that should become the norm, and should have always been. Thank you Easy Jose for creating this reality. Shade grown coffee that doesn't destroy forests or disturb wildlife, and that benefits people - this is the dream! You have raised the standards for everyone, Easy Jose. Can you please supply the whole food chain now?
